Now that you know a little bit more about families, we want to know about yours, choose one of the options below and share it in the comments:
- Share an anecdote about your family with the class, you can add a photograph if you want.
- Share information about the members of your family, talk about what they like, how you spend your spare/free time together, or anything you want to share about them.

BREAKING WITH FAMILY STEREOTYPES
What constitutes a family varies across the globe depending on a variety of factors including subsistence practices and economic behaviors. Family defines obligations that group members have to one another, both economically and socially. Generally, family members live together, but that is not always the case.
Extended family: This kind of family is the most common type of family in the world. Extended families include at least grandparents, parents, children, uncle/aunt, and other parents.
Nuclear family: also known as elementary or traditional families, consist of two parents (usually married) and their children. Nuclear families may have one or more children who are biological or adopted.
Single parent family: consist of one parent with one or more kids. In this case, the parent either never married, is widowed, or divorced.
Childless family: are families with two parents who cannot have or don't want kids.
Homoparental family: a family that has two parents of the same sex. It can be a couple of women or men
Stepfamily: this kind of family is when two separate families merge into one. This can go several different ways, like two divorced parents with one or more children blending families, or one divorced parent with kinds marrying someone who has never been maried and has no kids.
